Bani Matar is Located in the southwestern part of Sana’a province, around the highest mountain in the arabian peninsula, mount Nabi Shuaib 3,666m.
The name “Mocha Matari” which is often heard in Japan, can only be used to refer to coffee produced in Bani Matar.
In the village of Haima, the smallholders dry the coffee cherries on the roof of their houses after harvesting. This coffee is the same coffee sold in the local coffee market of Yemen, The coffee has a characteristic aroma of chocolate coated fruit, and a very distinct roasted almond flavors.
